Physics and Philosophy

I only applied to one university and that happened to be Aberdeen University. On the flight there, my mum entered a competition for us to fly to space, and we won!

Scotland is kind of like my second home, had I not chosen University of Aberdeen then it would be very likely that we wouldn't have encountered this opportunity. I think it plays a significant role and it deserves to go to space with me as well.

"It was a very strange feeling falling from that high and it was only for a few seconds, if that, but it felt like a long time."

I remember turning my head and looking out the window, and I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ It was genuinely the best moment of my life.

I think it's just made me a lot more open minded and more aware of how meaningful things are, like the smaller things in life. I've just realised that the only goal in life is to live life. We all live here and we're all doing this together. And I think just knowing that and being able to see that from an overview perspective, just brings everything together.

Health and Exercise Science

I was attracted to Aberdeen because of its amazing nature and outstanding old campus.

I liked the size of the university and city as I could walk everywhere, from home, to uni, to work and to Aberdeen Sports Village.

The sport facilities looked so great and there were so many societies to try too… but the most important thing that has drawn my heart to this place was the friendly, international and welcoming atmosphere all around the campus and in the city.

I am now studying Health and Exercise Science but was originally studying Neuroscience and Psychology. The flexibility in degree changes and optional courses given to students is a valuable strength as it enables you to refine your course choices as you grow individually and get exposure to more classes and opportunities.

"To any student: bring the genuine person that you are along and dive into the great North without fear you’ll have a great time!"
